Installed and registered without problems on a Win 8.1.3 Pro 64 bit system.

In my case it installs a 64bit version in the program folder.

A company without name and address, we had had version 1.0.1 on March 14th of this year. Here are the old reviews:
http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/pt-photo-editor-1-0-1/

A really lightweight photo tool, occupies 39 MB of memory.

A dark lightroom style interface opens. A lot of options and some very good ones, not found in many other photo tools.

Have a look at the save options! You can remove some or all of your metadata (exif) including GPS info, you can change the color space and the saved picture gets automatically a new name. The program is worth only the save dialog. No external exif remover any more. But, what a pity, it does not SHOW metadata. The removal works, as I could test.

Positive to mention the lens correction tool, you have to do it manually, it does not take the lens info from the metadata (this really would be professional... think of DXO Optics), a good solution the straighten tool with autocrop on/off. Simple undo/redo. A simple to use clone tool.

It does not automatically load the last picture locations.

This is a software worth downloading and keeping. Makes a very good impression. I'll replace my former version and repeat my first impression:

If you’ll have already a dozen programs to boost your photos to “professional”, this would be number thirteen with the advantage to be a small and fast program.

No uninstall...

Lightweight and easy-to-use photo editor today: it has any option a good photo editor shoud have.
So you can crop and/or straighten pictures quickly, enhance their colors, modify the saturation, contrast and brightness etc...
It's even able to create a GRADIENT AREA in the pic, to apply effects gradually across the region.
Supports all popular image formats out there plus Camera RAW and Adobe DNG photos!!

The only CONS is that my terrific and almost infallible AV (Weebroot) blocked their homepage warning me that there is a high risk to be infected by a virus.

Anyway installed upon reboot (guess that the THUMBS UP will now go UP immediately....LOL!)!! ^_^

Unusual installation and registration in that it came with a REG file, so ran setup without letting it launch and then ran the Activate.reg, now I let it launch which it did as a registered program.

Opened up to one of these dreadful mud coloured interfaces so unsuitable for old eyes, but thankfully this was the only aspect of the program that I didn't like.

A pretty unique interface that takes a minute or two to get used to, but once you do it is very easy and effective in helping you manipulate your images, also any changes you make appear immediately.

The lens correction tool is really effective and allows for manipulation in a way I have not seen before, full of possibilities.

The range of changes each of the controls allows has been well thought out, for instance I could not get the sharpness tool to overdo it, little things like that that show the care taken in the programs design.

A very good piece of software for any aspiring photographers, one they should have in their toolkit, certainly going to stay in mine, but please developers create an alternative to the mud coloured interface.

Before anyone seeks to draw my attention to Zoner, Photoscape, GIMP and Paintnet:

Today's software is an astonishingly good program with far, far more under the hood than seems apparent from a cursory look or quick run-through. Trashing many a rival commercial offering from mid-range producers like Ashampoo and Engelmann Media, PT Photo Editor 2.1.2 has a depth and a competence that out-does Zoner, a range of facilities that out-strips Photoscape, an ease of use that GIMP cannot match and a calibre of image management the equal of Paintnet.

Image editors are a hobby of mine so yes: I am indeed A Sad Geek. However: seeing as this computer is currently home to over $1,000sworth of Adobe CS, I do have a passing familiarity with stuff like Curves and Layers and all the other arcane words in the lexicon of this type of software application.

Today's developer really does seem to know what it's doing: an entry-level program that's perfect for novice users yet deceptively big enough to take 'em out into the far reaches of post-processing like individual RGB spectrum manipulation. Yes, there are some well-implemented friendly gimmicks of the sort found in mid-to-low cost and freeware editors -- 'Red Eye' removal being one -- but equally, there are some very powerful tools here which in performance collectively exceed by some margin the freewares mentioned at the top of this post.

So impressed have I been with PT Photo Editor 2.2 that I've actually just run it back to back with Photoshop CS, one helluva compliment to pay to the developer because comparing the donkey that is most image management software to the thoroughbred that is Photoshop CS is idiotically unfair.

But not here. PT Photo Editor 2.2 is emphatically not Adobe: it doesn't set out to be and it isn't, therefore, targeted at the graphics design section of an advertising agency's art department staffed by folks who actually had to spend at least 2 years learning how to use it. Instead, it's targeted at home users, and targeted so accurately that I'm astonished that even one thumbs down has been given against it, never mind the total of witless 'user votes' that have cropped up so far.

Verdict: this has to be one of the very best offers Giveawayoftheday has facilitated in 2014. A seemingly simple little toolbox, PT Photo Editor 2.2 actually punches far, far above its weight (and its size). A novice user who requires only an intuitive click-and-go (for example, the Image Rotate and auto-crop facility) has it instantly to hand, whilst tools of considerably greater sophistication are there aplenty for users who wish to explore a little further. What's especially commendable about Photo-Toolbox's work here is the tailoring of a succinct yet informative help page:

http://www.photo-toolbox.com/product/photo-editor/user-guide/#TAB

to the software's controls: it's the quickest and easiest journey into Adobe Land anyone will ever make, seeing as how what is under discussion there isn't the cheapo gimmickry of many another image editor but concepts and controls that are fundamental to any understanding of Photoshop and, therefore, digital image post-processing.

At a mere 6.20Mb, PT Photo Editor is as scientifically elegant a rebuttal as any I've yet seen of all the bloatware out there churned out by lazy coders in software companies large and small; at $30, a 'Best Buy' by any criteria. Offered entirely free of charge today, it has to be one of 2014's most unmissable bargains -- as indeed does the half-price offer of a mere $15 which the developer is making available until the end of this month.

Well done, Photo-Toolbox, and well done, Giveawayofheday: Christmas just came early for those quick enough to accept this gift with both hands.

Not to repeat what has already been said, this is a decent lightweight Lightroom clone. "Developing" some CR2 photos I was mostly able to do, what I wanted. Colour controls, sharpening, manual lens correction, gradient tool etc. work well. Noise reduction is quite OK even with high ISO photos. What I was missing most, was a tool to reduce chromatic aberration. Perhaps I didn't find it.

Editors and viewers like Photoscape, IrfanView, Faststone, Hornil, Paint.net and Gimp have been mentioned here. None of them offers 16-bit support, and, for example, the free version of Zoner also doesn't. (Beta Gimp 2.9 does, but it is still quite slow and clumsy, and Gimp is a different kind of program anyway. 16-bit capable open source photo editors are, for instance, LightZone, Raw Therapee and Photivo). So this is quite an important feature of this PT Editor, that wants to work "like professional", whatever that means.

This is not a photo organizer, but it should still be able to show, if not edit, the metadata, and the browser has a lot of space for improvements.
