I just installed today's giveaway, and here is my opinion:
The Good:
Very agressive detection of PUPs (Potentially Unwanted Programs).
Often when you install software (mostly free software), it will come bundled with some third party software. Unless you pay close attention when you install the software this extra software will be installed. Usually it will be a scan only trial version of some cleanup or driver update software, and you will actually have to buy a license to remove any of the problems it finds. Often these programs popup everytime you start Windows, to show how many problems they have found in your system and to encourage you to buy them.
Today's giveaway excels at removing these unwanted programs.
The Bad:
GridinSoft Anti-Malware has issues with false positives. A false positive is when a safe file is wrongly identified as being bad. This means it you don't pay close attention to the scan results and be sure make sure that nothing important is selected to be removed, it could remove some software you actually use.
This is a serious problem, and false postivies in other better known antimalware software such as Malwarebytes, Zemana Anti-Malware and HitmanPro, are extremly rare. This is an area the publisher really needs to pay attention to if they want to improve their software.
Secondly, with today's offering being so good at finding unwanted software, it important to realise that you may have software installed that you actually use, which will detected as being unwanted. So, once again, you really need to pay close attention to the scan results, so you be sure it won't remove any software you want to keep. It's important to note, that just because a program is considered unwanted, it does not necessarily mean it is harmful or bad. A good example of this, is if a program you never wanted and don't use gets installed alongside some other software you download, then you will want it removed. But, on the otherhand if you actually download edand installed that software yourself, than most likely you'll want to keep it.
In conclusion, GridinSoft Anti-Malware could be a handy tool as long as you bear in mind that you need to pay very close attention to the scan results, so that nothing that shouldn't be removed gets removed.

Dl and install no problem. Registering has un necessary questions but got it done. I uninstalled it as it found literall dozens of false positives on my software (Glary Utilities, 360 security, my Nvidia driver (!), Ccleaner, many more,and EVERY one of my games- all legitimate!) and even some of my MS updates! It took nearly an hour to get them all out of quarantine. I run defender and 360 Security which, besides having 360 cloud anti virus protection, also contains Avira and Malwarebites, which never have given me false positives, This is dangerous software and can seiously damage your system! To find Nvidia's driver as a virus is ridiculous! Caveat emptor.
Installed and registered easily. Ran a scan. Among 61 items, it also flagged my Auslogic defragmenter, Karens Replicator, Iobit Antimalware, Network Meter, Freemake Video Downloader, Winja Antimalware, Core Temp Processor Monitor, and Dual Boot Repair programs. This is far too aggressive for me. Thank you for the opportunity but I think I will pass.
can this product be used with other antivirus also installed, like AVG?
