@4 Thank you young Chris!
I'm a Granny and let me tell you that I handle some very sophisticated interfaces on a daily basis, and I'm not referring to my grandchildren.
Many of us started computing in the late 80s, early 90s and are now senior Gramps, Pops, and nanas who can boast pretty good computer skills.
Go grannies and gramps at GOTD !!!!

A clean, simply interface (Granny friendly...) but its also its weakness - its very basic and quite limited. There is only one level of tasks, so a task can't have sub-tasks. This is essential really - for example, the screenshot shows 'Play squash with Susan'. Has the court been booked? Has Susan been rung? Has the racket been picked up from the menders?
Its not bad software, but unfortunately, not useful either. Pretty and colourful, but then so are my underpants. And they're not much good for planning my day either.

Yes – it is very basic, but the trouble with the hundreds of other To-Do lists is that they are far to complicated to use with ease.
With regard to #4, you don’t need sub-categories. Every item on the list can be expanded to any degree of information such as telephone calls and booking the court, can be added to the notes section below, which only displays as each note is highlighted.
Simple, practical, all the information you need for a To-Do list without being unnecessarily complex, and does exactly what is says.

@ Linz (#6) : Hey Granny, I'm just another Gramp (turned 72 a few days ago ;-) who started computing in the early eighties (good ol' TRS80!). But I Have a need for such a program because I suffered a severe burn-out at 64 (a year before retiring) just because I was reassigned to an unfitting job a year before ;-((.
My memory is just like a hard disk: the data is (probably) all recorded there, but I just almost am never able to access it! The firmware isn't working any more...
So, yes Heinz (#8) Rainlendar is definitely my trusted friend (only recently let me down once over the years for... an important birthday - and yes, the person in question is still in the system; so what?)
@Jeff (#10): believe me I did try that, but it absolutely doesn't work for me. I have to remember checking the paper which I can't (when it didn't get buried under other notes...)
@2 Big Daddy & Ethel#13): didn't know Notepad, Wordpad, HTML and tutti quanti did have a remind function (sound signal and pop-up that stays on screen if you don't deliberately close it!). And, Ethel, I'm definitely "relying on technology to do something" I absolutely cannot be " doing myself"...
I can only guess that 209 (!) thumbs down just stem from people whose memory is first rate... Otherwise?!!! The few real comments on the software itself (I thought that was the idea) seem positive, isn't it?
And last but not least, when are people going to stop complaining about the price of something they are getting for free?
So, even if I'll stick to Rainlendar (just because I'm well accustomed to it), it's all thumbs up for GOTD and Dextronet!
